Structural Steel Project Manager

On-site, Remote, Hybrid

Chattanooga, Tennessee

Full-Time, Part-Time, or Contract

Position Summary:

The Structural Steel Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all phases of structural steel projects from pre-construction through final completion. This includes managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, shop drawings, and field crews to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget, while maintaining quality standards and client satisfaction

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all phases of structural steel projects including estimating hand-off, detailing, fabrication, delivery, and erection

  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, submittals, RFI’s, change orders, and contracts

  • Coordinate with engineering, detailing, fabrication, and field erection teams to ensure smooth project execution

  • Review drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with contract requirements

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, general contractors, and subcontractors

  • Monitor project performance and proactively address issues related to safety, schedule, or cost

  • Conduct regular job site visits to oversee progress, safety compliance, and quality control

  • Maintain accurate project documentation including daily reports, meeting minutes, and correspondence

  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, OSHA regulations, and safety requirements

  • Facilitate project closeout including punch list completion, final billing, and client satisfaction follow-up

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred (equivalent experience considered)

  • 5+ years of project management experience in structural steel or a related construction field

  • Strong knowledge of steel detailing, fabrication, and erection processes

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project), and Bluebeam

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills

  • Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings

  • OSHA 30 certification preferred

  • Ability to travel to job sites as needed

Compensation: 90-110k DOE
